But I remember reading through it cover to cover, trying to learn anything I could, and I picked up a bunch of keyboard shortcuts I still use today, learned about things like invert selection in Explorer, or how to turn off some system processes to gain minor speed ups. It was so unneccesary! Like you would need a book to know how to use DOS, or even some aspects of Windows 3.1, but 95 was so straightforward. My dad had books about DOS use so of course he went and got this massive tome on how to use Windows 95. We came home from a vacation and it was all set up Start button, CD technology, Microsoft Encarta, Simcity 2000, Office 97, Plus Pack / 3D Space Cadet Pinball, everything you could want really. It was a relative's old 486 with 24MB of RAM. I was really young and don't have a great memory of that time of my life, but I really distinctly remember when we finally upgraded to a PC that supported Windows 95.
